I joined the Quadra Sales Team in July 2021 and I am involved with all things PCB related including eCADSTAR, PCB Design Services, Board Manufacture and Assembly and Training. This includes Customer Account Management, Quotations, Demonstrations, Liaising with our PCB Design Team and Manufacturing Team as well as providing assistance for our eCADSTAR Essential and IPC CID / CID+ Training Courses.
I have 20+ years of experience in Sales and Administration, which enables me to have a good understanding of customer requirements along with a good knowledge of our Admin systems.
In my spare time, my interests include family, socialising and most sports.
I’ve been at Quadra around three years starting as a sales rep and working my way up to the role of New Business Manager which I have been doing now for around a year now. The tagline for Quadra as a business is People, Knowledge, Innovation, and as an employee of Quadra it is first and foremost the people and the environment they create that make it a great place to work, whether it is Michelle regaling us with stories, Mike cracking jokes, Gary impressing us with his musical knowledge or Mell ruling the roost on all things Harry Potter – the sales office is a lively, vibrant and friendly, non-corporate team environment which suits me and my personality perfectly.
Outside of work I enjoy going to live events, mainly football and concerts, with the two Old Traffords being my most frequented venues. I also enjoy working out and try to get to the gym a few times a week after work. I am an passionate and aspiring writer, having written and published stories, poetry, and articles during my studying English Literature at the University of Newcastle, I am also an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, and usually polish the bulk of my reading off during my 90-minute each way commute from my home Manchester to our office in Accrington – sometimes with a nap thrown in for good measure.
I have worked on both sides of the business. Initially as an Autodesk Sales Account Manager. However, I now deal with all things PCB-related such as eCADSTAR, PCB Design services, Board manufacturing, and Assembly and Training as well as Customer Success. This includes Customer Account Management, Quotations, Demonstrations, liaising with our PCB Design Team and Manufacturing Team as well as providing assistance for our eCADSTAR Essential and IPC CID / CID+ Training Courses. Outside of work, my interests are playing tennis, a bit of golf and walking.
I’ve spent most of my earlier career in the service delivery sector, which has given me a hard-wired focus on customer satisfaction.
Prior to Quadra, I worked for Lancaster University in the Engineering Department, working with local SMEs requiring EU-funded support for additive manufacturing and prototyping support for product development. As I liked to put it – “the bit before Dragons Den”.
I’ve been with Quadra for 9 years, currently serving as a Senior Accounts Manager, with responsibility for improving & modernising Operations wherever possible. I primarily serve Design, Manufacturing and Engineering companies across the UK with best-practise Autodesk support from myself or our amazing team of battle-hardened, time-served CAD application engineers and IT consultants.
What else is there to say…? Since being at Quadra, I’ve got married, had a kid, moved house, gone grey, and dodged covid. I’ve been abroad about 6 times in my entire life. A typical Lancashire lad (both by birth and upbringing – and yes, you’re very welcome) who loves time with his family, indie rock music, a chilled Citra IPA (that’s a beer, for the uninitiated), starting random conversations in beautiful British queues, Superdry, driving (handy – comes with the job), making folk laugh, buying new often-random gadgetry on Amazon, finding bargains on FB Marketplace, talking …as you’ll learn if you haven’t done already.
I don’t like grapefruit; I don’t like arguing (gets you nowhere) and I hate… HATE …that picture they’ve taken of me.
I have over 20 years’ experience in customer account and people management both B2B & B2C. Yes, you did read that correctly I said 20 years…I know I’ve aged well. Over the years I have managed customer accounts for bulk fuel, fuel cards, telephone systems and all the bits that come with it. The majority of my career however, was spent in banking, working for the RBS group. I spent 6 of those years working for Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland, where I managed group projects and branches.
So, what brought me to Quadra I hear you ask? Well…
I moved back home to be closer to family and decided to embark on a degree in Law…it wasn’t for me however; I did pick up some useful skills.
Just over 5 years ago an opportunity opened up at Quadra and I was fortunate enough to be offered the position of account manager, looking after MFG and AEC customers. Then the challenge began, having little experience in either sector it was time to put the recently acquired academic skills to use and swat up. I must have done ok because I have built up a good customer base and built some fantastic relationships while helping customers improve workflows and increase revenue.
I have since received a promotion and now also look after the Autodesk sales team.
A little bit about me personally (as if you haven’t read enough) I have 2 children now both in their mid to late teens. I have 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I think I have a thing for even numbers and animals. Oh, and I really like Gin.
