Simon Dobson
As the Managing Director at Quadra, a leading CAD software specialist and PCB design bureau since 1999, I am passionate about driving innovation and transforming businesses through leading technological solutions. With a proven track record of success in the industry, I specialise in bespoke solutions that optimise operational efficiency, streamline processes and elevate business performance.
Steve Dobson
I have been thinking a lot about what I should tell you about me that will encourage you to select Quadra as a supplier of software, technical support or PCB design and manufacturing services.
At sixteen years of age I embarked on a traditional mechanical and production engineering apprenticeship, pretty soon after I came out of my time I left GEC and moved to TDS Circuits in late 1981. At the time TDS were one of the foremost PCB fabricators in the UK manufacturing some of the most advanced and complex PCBs.
I have spent the last forty plus years working in the PCB industry, I am passionate about PCB Design Fabrication and Assembly, at Quadra we strive for complete customer satisfaction, we believe in lasting, mutually beneficial business relationships.
Rob Hargreaves
I am driven by my passion for innovation in the world of technology. I thrive in orchestrating complex technical projects and my main focus is Vault implementations.
Keith Watkins
I am the Technical Director for PCB design at Quadra. My main areas of expertise are impedance control, PI and SI analysis, DDR2,3,4 and PCI.
I am trained in advanced technologies, design for manufacture and high-density circuit boards. I have been involved in many industry projects over the years including, aerospace, defence and automotive.
Michelle Holden
I have over 20 years’ experience in customer account and people management both B2B & B2C. Yes, you did read that correctly I said 20 years…I know I’ve aged well. Over the years I have managed customer accounts for bulk fuel, fuel cards, telephone systems and all the bits that come with it. The majority of my career however, was spent in banking, working for the RBS group. I spent 6 of those years working for Ulster Bank in Northern Ireland, where I managed group projects and branches.
So, what brought me to Quadra I hear you ask? Well…
I moved back home to be closer to family and decided to embark on a degree in Law…it wasn’t for me however; I did pick up some useful skills.
Just over 5 years ago an opportunity opened up at Quadra and I was fortunate enough to be offered the position of account manager, looking after MFG and AEC customers. Then the challenge began, having little experience in either sector it was time to put the recently acquired academic skills to use and swat up. I must have done ok because I have built up a good customer base and built some fantastic relationships while helping customers improve workflows and increase revenue.
I have since received a promotion and now also look after the Autodesk sales team.
A little bit about me personally (as if you haven’t read enough) I have 2 children now both in their mid to late teens. I have 2 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats. I think I have a thing for even numbers and animals. Oh, and I really like Gin.
Paul Young
I joined the Quadra Sales Team in July 2021 and I am involved with all things PCB related including eCADSTAR, PCB Design Services, Board Manufacture and Assembly and Training. This includes Customer Account Management, Quotations, Demonstrations, Liaising with our PCB Design Team and Manufacturing Team as well as providing assistance for our eCADSTAR Essential and IPC CID / CID+ Training Courses.
I have 20+ years of experience in Sales and Administration, which enables me to have a good understanding of customer requirements along with a good knowledge of our Admin systems.
In my spare time, my interests include family, socialising and most sports.
Steve Taylor
I am an IT systems administrator across various sites, mainly looking after on-premise servers.
I’ve also studied genetics and quantum mechanics and have a keen interest in transport.
Kieran Williams
I started my career in research and development, upon returning to higher education to complete an MSc I worked as an associate lecturer in both electronics and mechatronics before joining Quadra in 2021 as an Applications Engineer / PCB Designer.
As an application engineer, I predominantly work within application support offering continued support to our customers and training in eCADSTAR, whilst working closely with sales to help inform new customers of the capabilities of the tool we use. I also undertake PCB design and reverse engineering work in both CADSTAR and eCADSTAR to serve the other half of my role.
Matt Hutchinson
I have been with Quadra for 15 years ( some say part of the furniture! )
My role revolves around All things Inventor, Vault and Coding. Whether that’s Installs, Support, Training or Customising.
Andy Laycock
I have a background in Fabrication and Mechanical and Electrical service drawing. I have produced working construction and installed drawings for the AEC sector and used AutoCAD for over 30, I also have many years of experience in Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, Plant 3D and several other Autodesk products. I have also held Autodesk ACP & ACI accreditations for over 6 years, and this year I will attain the Gold Level in Autodesk’s Certified Instructor Programme.
I have a passion for enabling and empowering people and organisations to achieve the best possible outcomes with the Autodesk software they already use and helping them get from “where they are” to “where they want to be” in their particular sectors.
I also have an interest in the implementation of BIM, several years ago I attained the Qualification of BRE BIM Practitioner and have educated many people in the BS/PAS1192 protocol and am in the process of upgrading those skills and qualifications with the BSI to align the new and evolving ISO19650.
Personally, I enjoy triathlons, Outdoor sports, Gymnastics, and playing the drums.
Marc England
I have worked in the PCB design industry for over 38 years, I have designed a wide range of boards from cost-effective high volume products to highly complex analogue/digital systems for a wide range of industries including nuclear and medical.
My main areas of expertise include Signal Integrity/EMC, SI and PI, analogue, digital, SMPS and RF microwave design.
Mike Hacking
I’ve spent most of my earlier career in the service delivery sector, which has given me a hard-wired focus on customer satisfaction.
Prior to Quadra, I worked for Lancaster University in the Engineering Department, working with local SMEs requiring EU-funded support for additive manufacturing and prototyping support for product development. As I liked to put it – “the bit before Dragons Den”.
I’ve been with Quadra for 9 years, currently serving as a Senior Accounts Manager, with responsibility for improving & modernising Operations wherever possible. I primarily serve Design, Manufacturing and Engineering companies across the UK with best-practise Autodesk support from myself or our amazing team of battle-hardened, time-served CAD application engineers and IT consultants.
What else is there to say…? Since being at Quadra, I’ve got married, had a kid, moved house, gone grey, and dodged covid. I’ve been abroad about 6 times in my entire life. A typical Lancashire lad (both by birth and upbringing – and yes, you’re very welcome) who loves time with his family, indie rock music, a chilled Citra IPA (that’s a beer, for the uninitiated), starting random conversations in beautiful British queues, Superdry, driving (handy – comes with the job), making folk laugh, buying new often-random gadgetry on Amazon, finding bargains on FB Marketplace, talking …as you’ll learn if you haven’t done already.
I don’t like grapefruit; I don’t like arguing (gets you nowhere) and I hate… HATE …that picture they’ve taken of me.
Stephen Hall
I joined Quadra in September 2018 and have a dual role of Applications Engineer & Training Manager. My background is of 20 years as a Manufacturing Engineer, before then progressing to delivering Engineering disciplines such as CNC machining, CAD and 3D Printing in the Apprenticeship Sector for 8 years.
My main role at Quadra is the full-time delivery of Autodesk Inventor, Fusion 360 and AutoCAD courses as well as specialist courses such as Fusion CAM and Inventor CAM.
In my spare time, I am a keen runner and compete in Fell, Trail, Road and Cross Country races all over the North!
Kris McLaren
I’ve been at Quadra around three years starting as a sales rep and working my way up to the role of New Business Manager which I have been doing now for around a year now. The tagline for Quadra as a business is People, Knowledge, Innovation, and as an employee of Quadra it is first and foremost the people and the environment they create that make it a great place to work, whether it is Michelle regaling us with stories, Mike cracking jokes, Gary impressing us with his musical knowledge or Mell ruling the roost on all things Harry Potter – the sales office is a lively, vibrant and friendly, non-corporate team environment which suits me and my personality perfectly.
Outside of work I enjoy going to live events, mainly football and concerts, with the two Old Traffords being my most frequented venues. I also enjoy working out and try to get to the gym a few times a week after work. I am an passionate and aspiring writer, having written and published stories, poetry, and articles during my studying English Literature at the University of Newcastle, I am also an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction, and usually polish the bulk of my reading off during my 90-minute each way commute from my home Manchester to our office in Accrington – sometimes with a nap thrown in for good measure.
Gary Oakley
I have worked on both sides of the business. Initially as an Autodesk Sales Account Manager. However, I now deal with all things PCB-related such as eCADSTAR, PCB Design services, Board manufacturing, and Assembly and Training as well as Customer Success. This includes Customer Account Management, Quotations, Demonstrations, liaising with our PCB Design Team and Manufacturing Team as well as providing assistance for our eCADSTAR Essential and IPC CID / CID+ Training Courses. Outside of work, my interests are playing tennis, a bit of golf and walking.
Alan Bradshaw

Gill Green
