Revit Architecture Fundamentals Training Course

Objectives

Aspiring BIM professionals will benefit from this comprehensive introduction to Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Revit. The course begins with mastering navigation of the Revit interface, selecting templates, and linking CAD and Revit files. Participants will learn to create essential datum elements such as levels and grids, and manage views using the Project Browser.

Key skills include understanding Revit families and components, and using basic sketching and modifying tools. The curriculum also covers constructing a 3D building model, integrating elements like columns, walls, windows, and doors, and adding floors, ceilings, roofs, and stairs. Finally, students will set up plotting sheets and create detailed drawings, complete with text, dimensions, tags, and schedules.

Pre-requisites

Participants should meet the following criteria to ensure they are prepared for this course:

  • For learners studying from home, access to Revit 2024 version is mandatory to ensure compatibility with our course materials. At our Training Centre, we provide access to this software. Please be aware that Autodesk may update the software, which could impact compatibility with the guides and files used in this course. Please note that earlier versions of Revit, such as 2023, may not be compatible with the course content.
  • An understanding of architectural terminology is beneficial.

 

These prerequisites ensure that participants can fully engage with and benefit from the course content.

  • I have allergies to seeds, cashew nuts and pistachio nuts. Lunch was made for us and mine was kept separate and wrapped in clingfilm. It is what should be done but it is surprising how many places don't take allergies as seriously as they should do. So I want to say thank you for the way it was handled. I don't know if this is the right place for that but I did also mention it to the staff at Quadrasol when I was there.The only reason I didn't put the equipment as very good was because the laptop I was using wouldn't charge up so I moved to another. The laptop I move to was absolutely fine. I found the whole course very engaging and informative. The room we were in was air conditioned which was good as it was a very hot few days.The course leader/tutor was very clear in his instructions and explanations. I have a better understanding of how the software works and so I am better placed to use it.
